Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG Serena 2019
Intense en complexe rode wijn van Barbera druiven uit de Monferrato wijnregio in Piemonte, Noordwest-Italië. De wijngaarden liggen in Calamandrana, een van de 18 gemeentes van de Nizza DOCG, een gebied dat bekendstaat om enkele van de beste en meest complexe expressies van de Barbera-druif.
The grapes for Serena come from an Isolabella della Croce vineyard in Calamandrana, in the Nizza area, some distance from the estate in Loazzolo. This site gives a concentrated Barbera, which then matures for twelve months in large wooden casks (botti) of French oak. The result is a complex, elegant Barbera with lovely fruit and a firm structure, made for rich Piemonte dishes.
