Monferrato Rosso DOC Superlodo 2016

Complex and rich red wine from the Monferrato wine region in Piemonte, north-west Italy, made from Barbera, Pinot Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The best Barbera grapes are selected in Calamandrana, one of the 18 municipalities of the Nizza DOCG, and combined with grapes from the natural amphitheatre near the estate, at 500 metres.

Superlodo combines the best of two worlds: the power and structure of Barbera from Nizza and the elegance of Pinot Nero from Loazzolo, completed with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Isolabella della Croce vinifies each grape separately, in the order in which they ripen, and ages the blend for twelve months in small wooden barrels (barriques). A rich, complex red for grand dishes and special occasions.

This Monferrato Rosso DOC Superlodo 2016 pairs perfectly with rich, hearty dishes, poultry or game, or as a meditation wine.
