Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG Diecianni 2015

Complex and elegant red wine from the Montalcino wine region in Tuscany, central Italy, made from Sangiovese grapes. The vineyards lie on the northern slope of the Montalcino hill, at 300 metres.

Tancredi Biondi Santi, Simonetta's grandfather, urged his daughter never to sell Le Chiuse, because the finest Brunello for the riservas grew there. For Diecianni, Le Chiuse hand-selects the smallest bunches from the oldest vineyard. The wine matures for four years in large wooden casks (botti) of oak and then for almost five more years in bottle: it is only ready in the tenth year after the harvest, hence the name 'Diecianni', ten years. A complex, balanced Brunello with great ageing potential.

This Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG Diecianni 2015 pairs perfectly with rich, hearty dishes, poultry or game, red meat, or as a meditation wine.
