Spumante Metodo Classico AUT 2022

Traditional-method sparkling wine from the Roero wine region in Piemonte, north-west Italy, made from Nebbiolo grapes. The vineyards lie north of Alba and the Tanaro river, close to the border with the province of Asti.

For AUT, Carlo Casetta makes a white sparkling wine from black grapes (blanc de noirs) using the traditional method. After the second fermentation in the bottle, it matures for 24 months on its lees. The result is a full, rich brut with fine bubbles and a touch of bread crust. The name means 'high' in Piedmontese dialect, like the rising bubbles, and sounds like 'out' in English: a wine that thinks outside the box.

This Spumante Metodo Classico AUT 2022 is perfect as a festive aperitif or with charcuterie, shellfish, fish starters or main courses with white meat.
