Rosso di Montepulciano DOC Appovento 2024

Elegant and juicy red wine from the Montepulciano wine region in Tuscany, central Italy, made from Sangiovese grapes. The vineyards lie at 500 metres, facing north.

Appovento comes from Croce di Febo's Cappuccini vineyard, at around 500 metres with a northern exposure, and best sheltered from the wind: 'appovento', as they say in the local dialect. After spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel, the Sangiovese, complemented by Canaiolo, matures for two years in small egg-shaped vessels of concrete and terracotta, and is neither fined nor filtered. The result is a fresh, elegant Rosso di Montepulciano with depth.

This Rosso di Montepulciano DOC Appovento 2024 pairs perfectly with red meat, pasta with meat, or starters such as risotto with porcini mushrooms or truffle, or as a meditation wine.
