Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Nobile 2020

Complex and elegant red wine from the Montepulciano wine region in Tuscany, central Italy, made from Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino and Mammolo grapes. The vineyards lie at 450 and 500 metres, facing south-east and north respectively.

For the Nobile, Croce di Febo brings together Sangiovese, complemented by Ciliegiolo, Colorino and Mammolo, from its two vineyards: Pietra del Diavolo facing south-east and Cappuccini facing north, each with its own soil. After spontaneous fermentation in cement, the wine matures for eighteen months in large wooden casks (botti) and smaller wooden barrels, eighteen months in cement and another year in bottle, without fining or filtration. The result is a complex, pure and elegant Vino Nobile di Montepulciano with great depth.

This Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Nobile 2020 pairs perfectly with red meat, pasta with meat, or starters such as risotto with porcini mushrooms or truffle, or as a meditation wine.

Maurizio Comitini is a determined winemaker with a vision, at the helm of the small Croce di Febo estate in the heart of the Montepulciano area in Tuscany. Biodynamic farming is central. Its 4 hectares of vineyards, split across two crus at around 500 metres, have no fewer than nine different soil types.
