Menone Negroamaro Salento IGP 2020

Complex and elegant red wine from the Salento wine region in Puglia, southern Italy, made from Negroamaro grapes. The vineyards lie near the town of Copertino in the province of Lecce.

Menone comes from a single 1.3-hectare vineyard with Negroamaro vines over eighty years old, grown as traditional bush vines (alberello): Marulli's pride and joy. The wine matures for three years in underground concrete tanks and is not filtered. The result is a powerful yet balanced Negroamaro, to decant and savour at leisure.

This Menone Negroamaro Salento IGP 2020 pairs perfectly with meat main courses, hot stone grills, fondue or teppanyaki, (game) stews or mature cheeses.

The family and team of the Marulli estate among the vines

Since 1975, the Marulli family has made refined, approachable wines near Copertino, in the heart of Salento. Their 20 hectares are spread over smaller plots, each dedicated to one specific wine, with its own vine age and pruning method. They grow Negroamaro, Primitivo, Chardonnay and the local Verdeca.
