Alto Adige DOC Pinot Nero 2022

Elegant and smooth red wine from the Alto Adige-Südtirol wine region in Trentino-Alto Adige, north-east Italy, made from Pinot Nero grapes. The vineyards lie in a unique terroir at 630 metres, at the foot of the Dolomites.

For the Pinot Nero, the Motta family picks each plot separately by hand, whenever the grapes there are ripe. After fermentation in wood, the wine matures for a year in small wooden barrels (barriques) of French oak and another eighteen months in bottle. The result is a very elegant, mineral Pinot Nero with lovely balance and a long finish.

This Alto Adige DOC Pinot Nero 2022 pairs perfectly with white meat, poultry, fish, red meat or cheese.

The Motta family, including brothers Francesco and Filippo, swapped Rome for the beautiful Alto Adige wine region at the foot of the Dolomites to follow their passion: winegrowing. Since 2004 they have tended 3.5 hectares of vineyards on steep slopes at 630 metres, surrounded by woodland and nature reserves.
