Etna Rosso Riserva DOC Contrada Blandano 2018

Powerful and elegant red wine from the Etna wine region in Sicily, southern Italy, made from Nerello Mascalese (90%) and Nerello Cappuccio (10%) grapes. The vineyards lie on the south-eastern slopes of the volcano at 450 to 550 metres, with the oldest vines (vecchie vigne).

Contrada Blandano Riserva comes from the estate's original vines, around the old palmento, the traditional winery of the contrada. After fermentation in cement, the wine matures for a long time in cement and in medium-sized wooden casks (tonneaux) of oak, then in bottle. The result is a powerful yet elegant Etna Rosso with depth. For the family, it is the calling card of their terroir; no more than 3,000 bottles are made.

This Etna Rosso Riserva DOC Contrada Blandano 2018 pairs perfectly with white meat, poultry, fish, red meat or cheese, or as a meditation wine.
