Rossese di Dolceacqua DOC Bricco Arcagna 2021

Complex and elegant red wine from the Rossese di Dolceacqua wine region in Liguria, north-west Italy, made from Rossese grapes. The vineyards lie in the renowned cru at the top of the Arcagna hill, near the village of Dolceacqua, close to the French border.

Bricco Arcagna comes from the top of the Arcagna hill, the heart of Terre Bianche and a highly regarded spot for Rossese di Dolceacqua. The vines here average over fifty years old, some even more than 120. The wine matures in small wooden barrels (barriques) and medium-sized wooden casks (tonneaux) of oak, becoming a deep, complex Rossese with a subtle smoky touch, which needs time to open up and can age for years. Only around 3,000 bottles are made each year; the house on the label is the estate's agriturismo, set among its oldest Rossese vineyards.

This Rossese di Dolceacqua DOC Bricco Arcagna 2021 pairs perfectly with red meat, grilled meat or game, or simply on its own as a delicious meditation wine.
