Complex and elegant red wine from the Chianti Classico wine region in Tuscany, central Italy, made from Sangiovese grapes. The vineyards lie in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, in the north of the area, at 320 metres.

For the Gran Selezione, the top category of Chianti Classico, Villa Vallacchio uses only Sangiovese. The wine matures for eighteen months in medium-sized wooden casks (tonneaux) of French oak and six months in cement, then another three months in bottle. The result is an intense, balanced Chianti Classico with depth and ageing potential. Only around 1,000 bottles are made; the name refers to Cristiana Benucci, the third generation at the helm.

This Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG Cristiana 2020 pairs perfectly with red meat, grilled meat or game, or simply on its own as a delicious meditation wine.
