Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC STIL 2022

Elegant and juicy red wine from the Roero wine region in Piemonte, north-west Italy, made from Nebbiolo grapes. The vineyards lie north of Alba and the Tanaro river, close to the border with the province of Asti.

For STIL, Carlo Casetta deliberately opts for fermentation and ageing partly in stainless steel and partly in wood, followed by at least eight months in bottle. This keeps the fruit and freshness of Nebbiolo to the fore. A smooth, fruity Nebbiolo with fine, silky tannins. The name means 'style' in Piedmontese dialect and sounds like 'steel' in English: a nod to the stainless steel.

This Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC STIL 2022 pairs perfectly with main courses of red meat or game such as venison.
