Elegante en sappige rode wijn van Barbera druiven uit de Langhe wijnregio in Piemonte, Noordwest-Italië. De wijngaarden liggen in Monforte d'Alba (Barolo-gebied), grenzend aan de cru San Luigi van de gemeente Dogliani.

Next to the little chapel of San Sebastiano, on the crown of a ridge, Chionetti deliberately chose Barbera: rainwater drains away easily and the wind quickly dries the tightly packed bunches, so the grapes ripen early and healthy. The result is a Barbera with lovely ripe fruit and a fresh, lively finish, just as at home with a hearty dish as with fish.

Martina and Nicola Chionetti, with Alessandro, are the fifth generation of the Chionetti family in Dogliani, in the Langhe, where Dolcetto has always taken centre stage. Each wine comes from a single vineyard (cru) and matures in large wooden casks (botti), steamed rather than toasted. Since 2015 they have also made exceptionally elegant Barolos.
